Simply The Best Progression Betting Book, Ever!

Koetsch has conducted the most complete evaluation of progression betting strategies published to date. Anyone who has visited Vegas or Atlantic City, and dropped a small fortune when a progressive betting strategy went south will appreciate the extensive work Koetch has done to help change that result. He examines the use of moderate positive progression strategies mixed with a limited martingale negative progression. The easy to follow charts demonstrate to the reader that these progressions could be used to end short sessions of 100 decisions in the black almost every time.
The writer is an engineer, and his short-efficient prose make even the most complex principles of statistical theory accessible to the non-math oriented player. Don't be fooled by the tables and math though, because this is a very practical text. The author invites the reader to pick the progression that fits his or her temperament for short term swings, and provides the player a very likely chance to leave the table within a 1-2 hours with a decent gain.
On the other hand, Koetsch's science background contributes to the strength of the book in another way too. His detailed explanation of the experiment, and the circumstances of the program used inspires confidence in the reliability of the results, as well as his personal integrity: a welcome departure from many popular authors on gambling. Useless book

As a programmer, I also interesting in different betting system. When I first look at the title of the book, I feel lucky enough that I finally find a correct book to conquest the casino, as a programmer, we can program a betting system to see is working or not.

After I finish reading, I feel very disappointing about this book, there are no any systems in this book can win money in the long run, and all the analyse information in this book can be done in one day!

The author suggest "QUIT" when you ahead the casino. Yes, in 86% of the time, it works, but there are still 12% remaining that never get ahead the casino, once you together all the short section into a long section, you can find you still lose your money by the odd and the "law of large number".

Don't waste your money, try the other authors like Fred Renzey, Frand Scoblete, Peter Griffith, Stanford Wong and Ken Fuchs.

A revealing statistical anaysis

I thoroughly enjoyed this book because it provides a revealing statistical analysis of several popular betting strategies. I have not seen this type of statistical analysis elsewhere. Koetsch has written computer programs to run the numbers with millions of trials to give statistically significant results. The results are clearly interpreted and explained in the book. Tables are also included for those of us that prefer a glance at the numerical results. If you are interested in an analysis of the best betting strategy to use based on statistical evidence, then I heartily recommend this well-written book!

Valuable book

I recently finished reading "Beyond Reason" by Roger Fisher and Daniel Shapiro. The book is centered on an idea that emotions play an important role in negotiations and provided an analytical view on how to best manage the emotional side of negotiations. While I was aware that emotions can have a big impact on a negotiation, or even a conversation, I really enjoyed the perspective that the authors offered on dealing with people who "abuse" the power of emotions, ranging from coercion by threat to playing on sympathy.

Although the advice of the authors was generally helpful, I sometimes questioned practicality of following the guidelines in day-to-day affairs. For example, the authors encouraged the readers to document and discuss each of the negotiations as part of constant learning process, often spending sixty to ninety minutes in follow up discussions. As a manager of a development team with frequent meetings, such analysis would put a significant damper on my productivity. As an attorney this book has altered the way I argue my cases. It has given me insight into the negotiation process in a different way than any other book I have read on negotiation. The five core concerns have helped me when I talk with my client, other attorneys and even when I interact with the judge. I also use the five core concerns in my personal life. You can grasp them in only a few minutes, yet they have a complexity to them. When you read the chapter about the ex-President of Equador you can understand how these core concerns can work on any level - personal, professional, or political. It is a must in everyone's library.

Winning With the Other Party Feeling Good

In MBA school we are taught to negeotiate with a lot of figures, charts, graphs, etc. Once all the facts are known, the decision is simple. The problem with that is two fold: 1. They are typically based on projections that may well not be true (remember the Edsel and the Convair 880). 2. They ignore the feelings of the other person involved, and feelings are very important. Sometimes (often) a decision is made that is not to the person's best interest simply because of feelings.

This book breaks down the five core emothions of feeling appreciated, alone, imposition, put down, trivialized. It covers business negeotion, but perhaps even more important is negeotiating with teens (but not two year olds), the mentally ill (ex-wives included), the drunk in a bar.

The techniques described here are given examples in buying a small item, presenting a case to the Supreme Court, to discussing border disagreements between a couple of nations. In short, we all negeotiate all the time, it works best when both parties feel that they got the best of the deal.

Informative, highly entertaining and surprisingly profound!

For anyone with even the slightest interest in the art of divination, I highly recommend “How to Read an Egg” – it’s fascinating, informative, delightfully written and just plain fun. Colette Brown is a professional clairvoyant and tarot reader, who uses many kinds of divination tools in her work, including tarot cards, runes, and a Celtic paperweight which moonlights as a crystal ball. Although she says she can receive very clear information with nothing but her third eye, she nonetheless finds divination tools an extremely valuable support for her work. In this smart and thoroughly entertaining book she explores new, unusual, and just plain weird divination tools – including the use of items such as eggs, tea leaves, wine, navels, random passages from books, lumps on the head, and even buttock reading to receive answers from the universe! The book is designed to not only keep us laughing, but provide an overview of what’s available, find a divination tool that works for us, and hopefully grow in our clairvoyant abilities through the process. I must add that I found Colette Brown’s descriptions of her sessions with clients, and her remarkable ability to receive instantaneous messages from the various forms of divination she investigates, to be both impressive and moving. The book’s deepest message is one that everyone in the world should hear: the Universe is always speaking to us, and if we only have faith and the required intuitive wisdom, we can learn to instantly receive God’s messages through virtually anything. This is a very entertaining and humorous book which explores many of the different ways that you can fortune tell. From the very obvious to the plain daft all of which have been tried and tested by the author Colette Brown. Not sure that some of them will ever be popular but I really enjoyed reading about them

How could you resist a title like ‘How To Read An Egg: Divination For The Easily Bored’? Or, as author Colette Brown says: “You have tried the tarot, ruminated with the runes and are all angel carded out! Now try the less well known, the tribal, the forgotten and the truly bonkers! Divination, the art of prediction or psychic insight by use of supernatural means, can be accurate and fun!” The odd thing about divination is that is works ... some swear by the Tarot, while others go into crystal thrall and pendulum twirling, or spend hours gazing into a crystal ball shot through with rutile. Some excel at one type of divination, while other methods leave them cold ... now Colette Brown has come up with a highly unusual and fresh approach to learning about divination. Or as the man said: where else could you have so much fun without laughing. This book is non-stop fun but with serious undercurrents that are perfect for the beginner who wonders why they can’t get to grips with a particular technique or divinatory method. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary in its scope, quality of photos and scholarshi

This botanical work is, quite simply, a classic. The author is the world's authority on his subject, genus Conophytum. Steve Hammer is a natural-born writer and his prose is clear and concise, while also being delightfully witty and informal. For me the most attractive aspect of the book isthe many, many color photographs by John Trager. They make anyone want to grow conophytums! Some plants are photographed to show their rainbow of colors; they are delicious looking.
Yet beyond the wit and color, this is a botanical monograph and will be for many years to come the standard reference on the genus. The book is laid out logically, with chapters devoted to each series within the two sections/subgenera. The early chapters talk about the group's taxonomic history, its cultivation and so forth.
All in all, I not only recommend this book; I urge you to peruse it!

The First and the Best

For those interested in the genus Conophytum this book has to be an absolute must. Although the book is a full blown reference book Hammer's writing style is easy and there is no reason why anyone interested could not read it from cover to cover, rather than just use it a reference tool.

The photographs are superb and the plants almost leap off the page at you. The book is well produced and print and paper quality are excellent. Essential for a book that will be used on a regular basis.

It cannot be faulted and should be in the library of every enthusiast of these beautiful plants.
